To best meet your eyecare needs, at Rolling Hills Eyecare, we provide comprehensive services that address eye and vision health from all angles and for all ages. From diagnosing and treating medical conditions to prescribing glasses and contacts, we help you see your world better. Our friendly doctors and eyecare team are highly trained and prepared to provide you with high-quality, contemporary care.
Eye Exams
We offer comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages. During your exam, we will review your overall and ocular health history, measure any nearsightedness or farsightedness, evaluate your eyes using modern retinal imaging technology, and assess how your eyes work together. Our goal is to diagnose any developing issues as soon as possible, which is why we recommend patients visit us for well-vision exams once a year. We will make recommendations to help you address any concerns we uncover.
InfantSEE Program and Pediatric Care
Our practice proudly participates in the InfantSEE program, through which we offer a complimentary first evaluation prior to age 1. We recommend children receive their first eye exam at around 6 months old. Our doctors have advanced training in pediatric optometry and enjoy working with children. We understand that a child might feel a bit anxious going to the eye doctor for the first time, but we strive to help them have fun and feel comfortable while they are in our office.
It is recommended that children have well-child vision exams at age 3, 5, and annually during school years. During a pediatric examination, our doctors evaluate the health of both the front and back parts of the eyes, as well as how the eyes work together. We also measure the eyes for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Our goal is to ensure your child receives any treatment as needed and to help them build the foundations for normal vision development and healthy eyes for life.
Contact Lenses
If you’re interested in contacts but don’t know where to start, we can help. We offer a wide variety of modern lens brands and types, from daily to extended wear, from single focus to bifocal. We also offer contacts for those with astigmatism and high prescriptions. We are sure to have a type that will meet your vision needs.
Before providing you with contacts, we will perform a contact lens fitting, which includes additional assessments that ensure the contacts will fit your eyes comfortably. We teach you how to insert and remove your contacts safely and how to properly care for your lenses so that you can maintain healthy vision.
Eyeglasses
Management of Ocular Diseases
Our doctors are trained to provide treatment and management of many types of eye conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eyes, cataracts, and acute or chronic red eyes. Some conditions require close monitoring.
We recommend patients with diabetes receive eye exams at least once a year, because diabetes can contribute to damaged blood vessels in the retina. We perform dilated exams to closely observe the retina. We will also examine the eye for any side effects that can be caused by medication. If surgery or specialized care is required, we will refer you to a specialist we trust to provide the care you need.
Emergency Eyecare
If you have an eye emergency, please contact one of our offices immediately and we will get you in as soon as possible. If the emergency occurs after hours, our voicemail will provide you with instructions. If your emergency is life threatening, you should call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Eye emergencies include:
- Trauma to the eye (cuts, scrapes, punctures)
- Foreign objects or chemicals in the eye
- Eye pain
- Sudden decrease or loss of vision
Refractive Surgery Consultations
If you are considering refractive or LASIK eye surgery, we can help you determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. We will also work closely with the surgeon to provide you with the proper care both prior to and after the surgery.
